Digital Paint work with FSA for Moneymadeclear Project

When the UK's financial services regulator, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), needed to further develop their Moneymadeclear website to accommodate the beginnings of a new Money Guidance initiative, they needed to choose a company to work with that had the ability to deliver high quality against a tight deadline.

In February 2009 Digital Paint was approached by the Moneymadeclear project team with a view to building and hosting a website that complemented the existing Moneymadeclear website, aimed at providing support to Money Guides who would be offering guidance and advice to consumers across the North East and North West of England. The FSA is a high-profile organisation with huge brand value, and anything in the public domain representing the FSA clearly needs to be of an appropriately high standard in all areas including presentation, security and content. Because of the nature of the website, a further challenge for Digital Paint was the timescale required to turn the project around, as the website needed to be completed to a very challenging deadline set by the FSA.

By working closely with the FSA project team, Digital Paint was able to quickly establish a very clear brief for the site, covering everything from design and style guides through to navigation and functionality. A close working relationship with regular contact between the two organisations ensured that any issues were quickly resolved and that Digital Paint was able to make rapid progress with the website build.

Working with Digital Paint has meant that not only has the FSA got the website it required in a very short timescale, but the FSA also made considerable cost savings over using traditional, larger service providers. Digital Paint is big enough to have the range of expertise and experience to deliver a project such as this, but small enough to be extremely flexible in the way that it engages with its clients and manages its costs.

Lorraine Hill, Project Manager in the Information Systems group at the FSA said, "Working with the Digital Paint team was a Project Manager's dream. They did exactly what they said they would do without me having to watch over them. The delivery of this service helps the FSA to deliver against one of our key objectives: promoting public understanding of the financial system. Digital Paint developed a product that met out expectations regarding time, cost, quality, and security, and the whole experience has proved extremely successful. Digital Paint has set the benchmark for any other initiatives of this nature within the FSA and I am extremely grateful to them for their professional attitude, approach and ability. I would certainly use Digital Paint again".
